Hi, I’m Sahili 👋

I love solving problems for a living!

In the past, I’ve managed a macro portfolio at Goldman Sachs, developed ML and model-risk systems at Wells Fargo, and built revenue systems while leading go-to-market and partnerships at Mili, an AI startup for wealth advisors.

These days I consult startups and run Vanta Collective with two close friends, helping early-stage teams turn good products into growing businesses.

I’m happiest when there’s something new to learn and build.

Markets, risk models, startups, communities. I’ve always liked problems that need both numbers and people, especially the ones that don’t belong neatly to one function.

The last five years

I moved between markets, model risk, and startup operations. The setting kept changing, but the work kept asking the same things of me: learn the system quickly, make decisions with incomplete information, and do whatever the outcome needed.

Before all of that

  • WorldQuant · quant research Researched price, volume, news, sentiment, options, and volatility to build systematic trading strategies.
  • UBS · credit risk Built an R package for consistent model reporting, then validated mortgage and risk-weighted asset models.
  • IIT Delhi · crisis-prediction research Built an early-warning neural-network model to flag crisis risk across emerging economies.
  • UP Board of Revenue · land administration Designed a web app to digitize land-revenue collection and crop-inspection workflows.

Outside work, I co-founded an app about loneliness and a marketplace for India’s thrift stores, and started a creative studio built around women-led businesses.

Vanta Collective.

AI made building easier. Growth is still brutally hard.

I noticed something simple: with AI, almost anyone can build faster now. But a lot of startups still struggle with the part that makes a product travel, the messy middle between “we built it” and “people care.”

So I started Vanta Collective with two close friends, to help early teams figure out what makes their product worth paying for, put that into plain words, and get it in front of the right people. We take on a few clients at a time, and we care more about whether the business actually moved than about how many deliverables we shipped.

If you’ve built something good and want more people to find it, we should talk.

Learning in public

I pick a subject I don’t understand yet, build myself a curriculum, go deep for a sprint, and publish what I learn: videos on SahiliTries, written series on LinkedIn.

a recent sprint

30 Days of Global Policy

A month studying how countries design digital identity, housing, climate, and industrial policy. One country at a time.

things I keep coming back to

  • How does the way we think about money shape the way we use our time?
  • What can housing, infrastructure, and public services tell us about what a country values?
  • What changes when attention becomes currency?

Let’s work together

I’m curious by nature. I love learning new things and giving myself the time to go deep.

That probably explains the range of things I’ve chosen to do: manage an investment portfolio, build a thrift marketplace, create spaces for women building companies of their own, and quite a few other things along the way.

Outside of work you’ll find me travelling somewhere unfamiliar, dancing (a habit from the BITS dance club), finding excuses to bring people together, or a few weeks deep into a subject I’ll end up explaining on YouTube.
